Day #045: Being Proactive

Proactive

There are two types of ‘doing’. One is done and two is above and beyond. Are you being proactive?

Being proactive requires you to think beyond yourself and beyond the simplicity of your task. It is to think further and potentially complete whatever you are doing with an extra dose of whatever it may be to make it stand out, to make it appeal and to make even more valuable. In most instances, you are required to project your thinking of the person the task is to be delivered to. Taking a perceptual lens and understanding how they may want something to be, look, feel and ultimately be the finishing result.

The cool part is, we can be doing this for ourselves. We can either rush, rush, rush through life, through the everyday things we are doing or working towards. Or, we can invest the time, take the time and think deeper and further of how we can be smarter in growing ourselves, learning skills and delivering results.

Examples can be:

  • output & throughput at the gym
  • cleaning and containing a minimalist lifestyle
  • prepping and maintaining a veggie garden
  • the 80/20 rule
  • meal prepping
  • bulk tasking
  • planning & event scheduling
  • routines (like a creature of habit)

Are you being proactive?
