Day #011: It’s Never Too Late!

If you came into this year with a GOAL, or with a SET RESOLUTION, then this is a post for you.

If you came into the year with no idea or not a clue of what you saw for the year ahead, then this is the post for you.

Making a change, will always be hard, but sticking to the change will be harder. Today marks 11 days into 2016 and by midnight that’s only 264 hours… What have you achieved in these hours? In these days? How many hours were comprised of sleeping, eating, working, exercising or relaxing. How many hours have you spent on your NEW GOALS?

As per my recent post Day #3: 8,784 Hours, these hours are depleting and quickly too. So spend them wisely. Spend them well.

If this was the only money you had for a year… how would you spend it? Would you invest it?

How about investing this time into making yourself into the BEST PERSON you can be. 2016 will be the year you make it, so why not make it your greatest year yet. You were born for greatness, so why not tap into it and show the world just how much of a capable SUPERSTAR you are!

If you’re already out there and kicking your goals – keep at it.

If you’re struggling to identify or lock down a goal – it’s not too late to start. Here are some key points to remember when chasing your goals:

  1. Nobody’s Perfect – Perfection is a myth. Go for progress over perfection.
  2. Down But Not Out – It’s okay to be down; we all fall. Just make sure you get up even stronger.
  3. Turn Frustration into Motivation – Take what’s not going in your favor and use it as a spark plug to fuel your drive forward.
  4. Good Vibes Only – Keep positivity around you, at all costs. This not only restores a healthy mind, but it also helps to attract positivity.  (Read more…)
  5. Change – Albert Einstein famously stated, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
  6. Plan – Without a vision, you are blind.
  7. Baby Steps Are Key – Don’t look too far ahead and focus one day at a time.
  8. Stay The Course – Patience has to be some ancient Jedi skill to master. It requires the most work and the most hope.
  9. Be Accountable – There are no excuses. Life doesn’t pity your circumstances or bend to your complaints.
  10. Don’t Look Back – Relapsing into old habits can definitely be a problem and also hinder whatever progress you have made.

Don’t ever under estimate the power within you. Control your mind, or it will control you. – Chris Furlong

Day #010: How Bad Do Want It?

All men are created equal. Some work harder in preseason. – Emmitt Smith

I ask you – how badly do you want to make it? How badly do you want to live your dream? How badly do you want to reach your goals?

To be successful at anything you have to focus and dedicate time, energy, effort, and most importantly perseverance in the face of opposition.

Be willing, be ready and be strong.

As noted back on Day #001  this year will literally be the year you make it. 2016 should be and can be your best year yet. It can be the year of a GREATER and BETTER you.

That all depends on you!

The below video if you haven’t seen before, is all about pushing us to becoming successful in anything. Watch the video here or read the transcript below:

There was a young man, you know, who wanted to make a lot of money and so he went to this guru, right. And he told the guru you know I wanna be on the same level you are and the guru said if you wanna be on the same level I’m on, I’ll met you tomorrow at the beach.

So the young man got there 4 A.M. he already to rock n’ roll. Got on a suit should of wore shorts. The old man grabs his hand and said: How bad do you wanna be successful? He said: “Real bad”. He said: Walk on out in the water. So he walks out into the water. Watch this. When he walks out to the water he goes waist deep and goes like this guy crazy.

Hey, I wanna make money and he got me out here swimming. I didn’t ask to be a lifeguard. I wanna make money he got me in – so he said come on a little further – walked out a little further – then he had it right around this area – the shoulder area – so this old man crazy – he making money but he crazy. So he said come on out a little further – came out a little further, it was right at his mouth – my man, I’m not about to go back in this guy is out of his mind. And the old man said: “I thought you said you wanted to be successful?” He said: “I do.” He said: “Then walk a little further.” He came, dropped his head in, held him down, hold him down, my man (kept scratching) hold him down, he had him held down, just before my man was about to pass out, he raised him up. He said: “I got a question for you.” He told the guy, he said: “When you want to succeed as bad as you wanna breathe than you will be successful.”

I don’t know how many of you all got asthma here today? If you ever had a asthma attack before your short of breath S.O.B shortness of breath, you wheezing (breath sound) the only thing you trying to do is get some air. You don’t care about no basketball game, you don’t care about what’s on T.V., you don’t care about nobody calling you, you don’t care about a party. The only thing you care about when you trying to breathe is to get some fresh air. That’s it! And when you get to the point where all you wanna do is be is successful as bad as you wanna breathe then you will be successful. And I’m here to tell you that number one, most of you say you wanna be successful but you don’t want it bad, you just kind of want it. You don’t want it bad than you wanna party. You don’t want it as much as you want to be cool. Most of you don’t want success as much as you want sleep. Some of you lost sleep more than you lost success. And I’m here to tell you today, if your going to be successful you gotta be willing to give up sleep. You gotta be willing to work with 3 hours of sleep – 2 hours of sleep, if you really wanna be successful. Some day your gonna have to stay up 3 days in a row. Because if you go to sleep you might miss the opportunity to be successful. That’s how bad you gotta (inaudible).

You gotta go days without – LISTEN TO ME! You gotta want to be successful so bad that you forget to eat. My ( ) said say, once she was on the set doing her thang, three days had gone by and she forgot that she didn’t eat. Cause she was engaged. I never forget, I went, 50 Cent was doing his movie, I did a little research on 50 and 50 said: that when he wasn’t do the movie he was doing the soundtrack. And they said: “When do you sleep?” 50, and 50 said: “Sleep, sleep is for those people who are broke. I don’t sleep.” See I got an opportunity to make my dream become a reality. Don’t cry to quits. You already in pain, you already hurt. Get a reward from it. Don’t go to sleep until you succeed. Source: LYBIO.net Listen to me, I’m here to tell you today you can come here and and you can jump up – you can do flips and you can be excited when we give away money but listen to me, you will never be successful, I don’t have to give you a dime if you ( ) You won’t be successful until you say I don’t need that money cause I got it in here.

Only The Strong Survive.

Day #009: Persistent And Consistent

We are really competing against ourselves. We have no control over how other people perform. – Pete Cashmore

Just how serious are you about getting yourself where you want to be. Are you serious enough to put in the time? The hard work? The pain? The sacrifice?

If you’re not willing to be persistent, how will you expect to get what you want. If you’re not willing to be consistent, how can you expect to see results?
We are only nine days in to the year and you need to be asking yourself how focused, how diligent and determined are you? Are you on point? Are you sticking to your resolutions? Your goals?

It is time to take a reality check. Nine days in and if you’re not making the time or the effort then you’re not going to make the cut. Seems tough? Well you need to be tough. You are your own worst enemy, so you need to think better than before, otherwise you will fall into your old ways. Make the effort – get out there and make some progress. It does not need to be perfection, just progress.

You need to start thinking BIG.

Think BIG, act BIGGER – Sergi Trivino

How can you start to think bigger and act bigger?

1. Get comfortable with the “You” factor
You must dare to see yourself in the biggest situations and achieving the biggest goals. If the “you” factor is missing or blurry, the equation is not going to work. What can you see you achieving? Don’t underestimate yourself.

2. Think bigger
If the thought doesn’t make you feel uncomfortable, then you are not thinking big enough. Thinking big, means things will challenge you.

You have to push your thought muscles further.

They work like any other muscles. If they get used to performing at a comfortable, average level, they tend to stay static. The more you push them, the more you use them, the more your thinking can grow and soon enough into a routine state of mind. But you have to keep pushing, otherwise you will get stuck and lose your drive and inspiration. The beautiful thing is to keep pushing perpetually, and verify for yourself that there are no limits.

3. Take immediate action
The thought must be followed by immediate action. Thinking or having thoughts about to doing great things is all good when said, but actions will speak louder than words or thoughts in this case.  Otherwise you have the possibility of the idea going rotten inside your mind and all drive or motivation disintegrates.

There is no someday, there is now or never.

“The best time to plant a tree was 10 years ago, but the second best time is NOW.” – Chinese Proverb

Day #008: Keep Telling Yourself

People can think and say what they want about you, but what should really matter is what your tell yourself and what you believe.

Speaking from experience, I have been known to have worked some long hours, while at the same time juggling multiple jobs and sides hustles all at once, which easily turned into 80 hours a week.

  • Was I happy? Absolutely!
  • Was I motivated? Everyday!
  • Was I rewarded? Yes!

What you tell yourself every day will either lift you up or tear you down. – Unknown

You see we all have different working conditions, we all have different days, we all have different circumstances in our lives. We are all different, but we all human. We all have the ability to tell ourselves something everyday. We control what we believe, how we feel and what we expect. All these factors can be very negative, but they can also be very POSITIVE. You decide. You decide every moment of how you react, how you take action, how you think and how you be you.

Make the decision to think positive, to look for the opportunities, to see the light, to understand the pain vs gain. These are all attributes of training your mind and character to be positive.

Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light. — Steve Kloves

When your given tough conditions, when things ain’t going as you planned, you can dwell on the could-haves, or you can mope about the things you miss out on or… You can rise to the moment. You can take your attitude and turn it up.

Don’t wish for a joyful day. Make it a joyful day.

Don’t wish for a happy day. Make it a happy day.

What you tell yourself each day is what you will become. Telling yourself the same thing over and over will create a psychological path in your mind that you will become naturally in tune with. A strong mind will take you places you could never imagine going physically. But a strong mind requires, discipline, willpower and self-control.

My question to you is:

  • What are you telling yourself each day?

Not out loud, but what are you thinking about to yourself, what are you claiming over your life? Positive things? Negative things?

Taking control of your own day will build your willpower, your self-control and your discipline. It will also build your confidence.

Take action to today! Take a stand. Rise up and face yourself. Understand who you are and buckle up. As you are about to take on your greatest challenge of your life. You.

Day #007: Ambition Is Key

Success begins in the mind. Your mind. In order to get anywhere or achieve anything, you need to set your mind towards that something. Like any result or output, you need to put in some action or an input before you can reap the rewards.
You need to set a fish trap to catch fish.
Are you ambitious? Are you passionate for something? Setting ambitious long-term goals, does not set you up for failure, it sets you up to grow and set’s you up to challenge your ability to step up and out of your comfort zone. We should be setting both ambitious long-term goals, and clear short-term targets. Just as the greyhound runs faster when chasing the mechanical rabbit, people are more motivated when pursuing identifiable targets. Do you have your targets in sight? Can you see what you are chasing for?
When we achieve these goals we feel good about ourselves, regardless if they are the short or long-term goals. There is little to compare to the feeling we get and the happiness we feel after performing and achieving a difficult task or a goal for that matter.

It’s time to relentlessly pursue your dream. – Chris Furlong

When you’re relentless about something, you mean business. Are you serious about your goals and dreams for 2016?

How serious?

Don’t let anything stop you. Do not resist, do not fall to the obstacles, your self-doubt, your circumstances, the length of the journey, your failures, or your past.

You’ve got this.

I would love to hear what your relentless dream is. Share it with me and #relentlessdream

Day #006: Be A Champion – Don’t Give Up

Every battle and every circumstance that you face in the end will make you stronger. We go through life learning, while at the same time living and fighting for the people that you love and care about.

But what about you?

Are you fighting for yourself? Are you fighting for your goals? Are you learning about goals and are you working on them to continue to grow yourself and to make you stronger?

Let’s be frank. Not everyone is going to understand your journey and that is fine. It is not their journey to make sense of. It’s yours and purely yours. So focus on your journey, don’t worry about the haters, as the haters are always going to hate. But get out there, hustle strong and make your journey to a greater you become a reality for 2016.

However, you should ask yourself.

Are you staying true to yourself? Are you on track and remaining consistent with your newly set goals and resolutions? Are you even working on them?

When you originally started how serious were you? If you’re not going to up your game, if you’re not going to be willing to push a little further, then maybe the people who don’t understand your journey are right. Maybe this goal isn’t right for you.**

But that’s not true. You set your goals for a reason right? So pull yourself together, grab a grip and come to your senses. Get out there and make some magic.

**If this goal really and honestly is not for you – change it and START on your new goal today.

Day #005: Progress Not Perfection

Hopefully you have started your Goal(s) to conquer for 2016. Your plan should be to achieve these and to be bigger and better than your were before. BUT, you’re not going to be perfect. You never will be!  But the more you progress, the more you keep to your goal(s), the further you will advance! It’s about the PROGRESS not perfection.

Believe in yourself, take action and just see what you are capable of!

Things won’t always go as planned and that’s OK. You see it is better to progress than to not at all. You will never be perfect, but you can work towards it. Even if you progress a little, this is a single step closer to getting to your goal. Things will happen that are out of your control, and they will muck up my idea of the perfect day or progress towards your goal. But the real focus should be on the fact that, even if you are not making perfect progress, you are still out there, you are still taking action towards your end game. Whether it be that you are taking baby steps or large leaps. Each day is progress, so do not stop.

Wise Words of Neila Rey:

If you have control over your body you have control over your life, the kind of control no one can take away from you. Every time you complete a training session, you add to your mental toughness, your ability to face hardship and power through; and that eventually becomes your identity. The attitude and the resilience you’ve put into training, becomes the driving force that pushes you upstream and through – towards the things you want and not the ones that just float by.

As noted by Neila, every time you complete a training session, or in this case complete another action towards your goal, you are developing and growing your mental toughness and your ability to face hardship and power through the next obstacle.

Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence. – Vince Lombardi

It is crucial you stay consistent, persistent and focus on making a form of progress. Too often people become so overwhelmed with not being perfect, that they give up altogether. So no matter what – make sure you are striving for progress each day, whether or not it feels to be perfect progress or not. To make this year the best it can be, to make you the greatest you can be, you will need to be as noted – consistent and persistent for progress.

Day #004: Conquer Your Mind

When it comes to Goals or New Year Resolutions we love them and we hate them, but we should never live without them. The problem is we become so hyped up on achieving not one, but so many NEW CRAZY GOALS that we end up achieving none at all, or we become so worn out and overwhelmed within months, if not weeks… that we just give up.

While there isn’t any set guarantee to actually achieve these goals, there are some steps you can take to obviously ensure you give it your best shot!

  • Believing that you are capable of achieving the goals you set for yourself may be the single most important thing you can do when setting out to achieve your goals.
  • You may second guess yourself more than a dozen times, but even if you are “against all odds” when pursuing your goal, do it anyway. Seriously DO IT!
  • Ok, so you believe you can do it, you are doing it against all odds, now, you must strive to be fearless.
  • In order to achieve success when setting out to reach your goals, it is imperative that you be persistent.
  • Nothing that is worth pursuing is done in the blink of an eye; it takes times, hard work, and you must definitely be patient.

Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson’s Words Of Motivation

“Success isn’t always about ‘Greatness’. It’s about consistency. Consistent hard work gains success. Greatness will come.”

Look at it this way. If you’re a runner like myself… we can be held back by the weather (extreme heats, thunderstorms and other conditions). Timing is everything and your SAFETY is always your number one priority. But if there is a break, if there is a chance of getting your run in. Do it. The run is more important than the race. Slow and steady if that’s case. This is consistency and consistency is the key.

“Progress is impossible without change and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.” – George Bernard Shaw

Get out there today and be persistent and be consistent. Whether you fail or succeed. Getting out there will help change your mind-set bringing you closer to a greater success in the end.

Day #003: This Year You Have 8,784 Hours…

Well I hate to break it to you but by the time you have read this you will have less than this…

2016 will actually have one extra day being a leap year. Meaning you will have 8,784 hours compared to 2015 which had 8,760 hours to be utilized and mastered.

For those already thinking… how can this be a Project 365 if there will be 366 days. Well if you come along for the journey, you will see how the extra day this year will be incorporated.

You have a journey, a job, a duty to yourself to get out there and spend these hours, work these hours and convert these hours in the results.

Take them, use them and see what you can become!

There are only two options: Make progress or make excuses. – Tony Robbins

Each year we all start at the same position. New opportunities, new goals, new habits and new scores to set. Even if this is your first time setting a goal and staying committed. So it is also for the experienced. They need to step it up to something new, something more. Which means they will need to have just as much willpower that you require to achieve their own goals. So don’t make the excuse of thinking  “you’re not strong enough”, “good enough”, or “don’t know how to start”.

Just get out there and go, go, go and do, do, do. Just start and just do!

Little by little. Day by day. This is all it takes to be the best you. – Chris Furlong

My question to you today is, now that we have reached Day #003, how are you tracking towards your destination? Is the journey a breeze so far? Is it already tough? Any obstacles in your way?
Don’t give up now! This is just the beginning of something better! You’ve got this.

Day #002: Stop Wishing & Start Doing

Day 2 is here and you’re either smashing your goals or struggling. Which one is it?
Already I am seeing all the overwhelming and negative social media posts including the repetitive statements such as “2016… I hope it is a good year”.
Let me be honest with you, as if I cannot be blunt with you now, how will you survive it throughout the year? You can hope all you want… Who knows? Maybe 2016 will be a good year. But did you know YOU can make it a good year. Yes you! Actually the year will be exactly what you make it. So stop the hoping and put in some action.

You see, in life, lots of people know what to do, but few people actually do what they know. Knowing is not enough! You must take action. – Anthony Robbins

You need to make 2016 the year it is to be.

  • If you want to conquer, achieve, change the world or make history. You need to get out there and make it happen. Get out there and take action.

Each day, one step at a time.

  • If you want to get fit. Get out there and run, get up early and exercise, stay up later and exercise. Any exercise is more than those sitting on the couch.

Don’t get hung up on the details but just start. Do something!

There are so many resources out there (this being one of them) which can assist you in making 2016 the BEST year you will ever have.

The point is, this year is up to you and you only. So make 2016 the best year ever!

Think of Rocky Balboa and his classic quote:

The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place… and I don´t care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently, if you let it. You, me or nobody, is gonna hit as hard as life. But ain’t about how hard you hit… It’s about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward… how much you can take, and keep moving forward. That´s how winning is done. Now, if you know what you worth, go out and get what you worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hits. And not pointing fingers saying: You ain´t what you wanna be because of him or her or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain´t you! You´re better than that

– Rocky Balboa

So will you make 2016 your year?
