Day #138: A Slow Process

Daily we are given the opportunity to do something more. Regardless if it is a slow process or not, it is a chance to seize an opportunity and embrace something new.

However, it can be a slow process getting your life in control. But if you decide to give up… this is never going to speed it up for you!

So how can you get your day in control, to further lead to your week being in control? Each is the perfect chance to set some mindsets, to do some preparation and to psych yourself up for what is ahead but for what else is to come throughout the week. See below for a few examples of what you can do today:

  • Take the morning to revise your goals for the day and week. Whether these are personal or for work. It’s always healthy to check in and remind yourself.
  • Instead of jumping into your day, wake up twenty minutes early to gather your thoughts. You are just about to start a new day so why not reflect and identify anything you need to get in line before doing it all again.
  • Look at each day as a new start. Forget yesterday or last week and focus on what is ahead of you. Aside from learning from mistakes, this day is a new slate.
  • Stop looking at the day negatively. Your thoughts control your perception which affects your actions. Be positive. You already know this! Any day is and should be based on your attitude. So make sure you have it right!
  • Breathe, be positive, and go through the day with ease. There is nothing more to it than that. If it gets heated or tough – take another breather, refresh your mind and try again.

These are just some of the things you can be doing. However, I cannot empathize how important your attitude is. If you have a negative approach, you will be stubborn and fight any chance of you being positive, let alone in a happy mood. Maybe last week wasn’t the best, or maybe yesterday sucked. I understand, it is tough, but we are tough. You are tough! So get your head back into the game and get back out there! It doesn’t matter if this process is slow. What matters is you are progressing.

Day #137: Do You Believe?

Did you know that the more you tell yourself something, over and over again, the more likely you will believe it? Like a routine or a habit, you become accustomed to believing what you are being told. This also means if other people are telling you something over and over again, you will become more and more familiar with it and you will naturally become attained to it.

Whatever you believe, with conviction, becomes your reality, whether or not it is true or false. – Brian Tracy

Like any habit, it needs to be consistent in your life in order for it comes into shape and being. Well, this is exactly the same for your belief system. Stepping aside from the usual debate of what you believe regarding religion.

A quick challenge is: What about your attitude and your happiness.

If you are going to wake up every day and begin the day with a foul attitude of doubt, fear, and anxiety, what do you expect the day to be like…

If you wake up ready to take on the day and to conquer the obstacles that come your way, this is always going to make you feel that little extra bouncy!

Now imagine you do this every day for the next month. Imagine how you will feel. Imagine wanting to jump and spring out of bed because you have realized that each day isn’t a struggle, but each day is an opportunity to learn, grow and to build yourself as an individual.

Stop pulling yourself down. Stop thinking and suggesting to yourself that you are not good enough.

Day #136: The Early Bird

Are you an early bird? Are you rising early with the intent to be productive? Are you rising up early to get “your worm”? The traits of a morning person bring benefits that I believe will make you a better person more and more each day. But the big question remaining is:

How do I become this amazing morning person?

Firstly you need to want to be this amazing morning person and secondly, you need to choose to be.

Regardless of how much you want it and should you choose to want to pursue it, the below 3 points are crucial in helping you make your mornings that extra bouncy!

Routine

Early morning risers need to have any sense of flow and structure you need a routine and a good one at that. It means you should have a structured morning each day whether it be the same as the day before, or maybe an alternating routine, or even a completely different routine on the weekend. The idea here is to have something which becomes second nature to you. Once your routine has become normal to you, your mind and body will learn to adapt and go with its natural flow. This will put your whole morning into a kick started state when you wake, as your whole body and state of mind will be already working towards doing what it should be… but subconsciously.

Attitude

Attitude is the key to any good day. Take away routines and you are left just another day. But attitude creates a day into what you want it to be. Early risers who set their attitude the moment they wake up, usually set the tone and theme for the day. Setting your morning tone influences the remaining actions of your day. However, you can also overcome your false or unhappy attitude by stepping out of your current zone refreshing your mind and trying again.

Excitement

Excitement is all about taking the little things of your day and turning them into the highlights. These include the high points and using these as motivators and encouragements. When we’re excited we do stuff, we overcome fears, we take chances, w make tough decisions, we push the boundaries, we explore our potential, we become solution-focused and we become more resourceful. Chat with any successful person about their goals and their passion and you’ll see what I mean about excitement. If you’re not excited (on some level) about your goals, then you may need to find some different ones.

Do you think you are up for it? Will you give it a go being an early bird?

Day #135: Morning Sunshine

Your Morning is going to happen one way or another, so you may as well face the reality and face them head on. I get it. We don’t all like to rise and shine with excitement to face whatever it is we have for the day. But with the right perspective and understanding, you will be surprised of just how GREAT a morning can be and what it can do for you.

Any early bird would know there are a common set of traits which make mornings successful. Maybe you are in the process of changing up your lifestyle and looking to be an early riser?

This is the perfect blog for you!

Morning people…

  1. Accomplish Tasks As Soon As They Start Their Day
  2. Potentially More Intelligent
  3. They Are Most Focused In The Morning
  4. They Follow The Habits Of Successful People
  5. They Get Enough Shuteye
  6. They Are More Proactive
  7. They Have The Time For Breakfast
  8. They Are Usually Happier
  9. They Usually Have Great Personality Traits

All these traits have some amazing benefits. They allow for more time, for more activities, for better schedules and even healthier bodies. This does not mean being a night owl is worse off. It just means that if you utilize our morning strategically and with a well-rounded routine, you will be jumping out of bed and kick-starting your day at a whole new level.

When you arise in the morningthink of what a precious privilege it is to be alive -to breatheto thinkto enjoyto love.” – Marcus Aurelius

I personally love the mornings, breakfast being one of my favorites to look forward to. Why? Because it is a chance to enjoy a meal alone and spend some time focusing on my blog or other personal items, just as a light breather before jumping into another adventure filled day.

Day #134: Try. Fail. Try Again.

When we fail, we should get back up and give it another go. Sometimes the day won’t go as planned. Things won’t go as planned. Yesterday may have felt like a loss, but today is a new day. So we should give it another go anyway.

Today could be a loss. But, your day could also be one of your best days yet.

What lies before us and what lies behind us are small matters compared to what lies within us. And when you bring what is within out into the world, miracles happen. – Henry David Thoreau

But what really matters is what is now and within you. How are you taking what’s within you and making a difference with it? That inner passion. That dream. That goal.

Don’t get me wrong – planning is great and should always be a consistent part of your life. However, sometimes, you need to take a step back and stop focusing on what has been and stop trying to make everything perfect for the future. Focus on what you can do better now. In order to get to that ‘perfect future’yours, you will need to make the important prioritized.

Think of it like taking each day and setting it as a foundation for the next. Progressing each day will set a new foundation for the next day. Even if the day feels like a loss, if you are moving forward, or even leaning forward this is still better than being stuck at a single standpoint.

The point of all this is: Keep moving forward. You may lose many, but you will win most battles and then you will conquer the war. The war of making things happen. There will be losses, there will be fights – but by the end of it, you will have conquered the very challenge that may at one stage seemed like the impossible. Each day it is a chance to reconvene, to restructure and strategically try again.

Day #133: Greater Growth

Growth is built up from weaving your way through this world and it is either going to be within your comfort zone or outside it. Pick one!

As you grow, as you learn and as you decide on really who and what you want to be in the world – you can begin to embrace, expand and absorb the unknown areas outside your comfort zone and begin to grow even more.

In order to progress into a greater state of growth, one must exceed their limits and comfort zones into where the remarkable happens. By pushing yourself into new areas you will have a chance to authentically define who you are, and break free of the limitations of what others think you should be. But also, growth outside your comfort zone can mean confidence in other areas of your life.

Living life uncomfortable is the only way to live. It’s being uncomfortable that makes you better. It’s being uncomfortable that reminds you you’re not where you want to be. It’s your road map for finding the finish line.

“Nobody ever died of discomfort, yet living in the name of comfort has killed more ideas, more opportunities, more actions, and more growth than everything else combined. Comfort kills!” — T. Harv Eker

As you learn to adapt and become comfortable, the more you can absorb outside your bubble. The more you absorb,  the greater the consumption of knowledge, understanding, and wisdom you will produce.

Day #132: Setback Control

We have all had a setback and it’s the uncontrollable ones that make it even more frustrating! But it is a fact of life. We should expect the unexpected. We will never know when, nor can we be ready. But we can prepare ourselves with the knowledge that things happen. It is part of life. But I tell you, don’t ever give up. Find a way around it, whether it be baby steps, stepping stones, longer times or simply prepping ahead. Do something that will add value, that will create your mind to continue on your journey of greatness. Get out there and plan, prepare, take action and see those results!

Uncontrollable, unknowing and unexpected. These are facts of life.

The key is to avoid giving up. Do not fall victim to giving up. It will consume you and take control of your life. All you need to do is find a way around it, whether it be baby steps, stepping stones, patience or simply prepping ahead. Do something that will add value, that will create your mind to continue on your journey of greatness.

Action plans and taking action to mitigate this set backs, or putting in place resolutions to manage setbacks once they have occurred are crucial. You choose to sook and give up, or you can step up, take action and yes it will probably be hard work. But what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger right?

Face the uncontrollable with a right attitude.

Get out there and plan, prepare, take action and see those results!

Day #131: A Little Self-Compassion

When things are going wrong, it’s hard to recognize what is going right. When we do not tap into self-compassion it is easy to screen out the good things and only focus on the bad things. Remind yourself that some things are going right. Purposely look for the positive, even if it is something very small.

Similarly, the ability for you to be understanding of your own mistakes in life is self-compassion.

Do you give more consideration to others when they make mistakes than you do for yourself? If you do, then your need to evaluate your self-compassion, as it has a huge impact on your mental well-being.

You may have good self-esteem, meaning you think you are a person of value and therefore you believe in your abilities. However, you can have good self-esteem, but without self-compassion, you will struggle to accept your failures as human error or circumstantial.

Having good self-compassion means that you are understanding and considerate toward yourself, as you would be for a dear friend. Often in life, people are hard on themselves, hoping that it will propel them to greater success.

Don’t take yourself for granted!

Day #130: A Full Potential

Your potential is as far as you want it to go. Today is a new day, a day with the opportunity to say you are willing! You can do it! You can do so much more if you are willing to put in the effort, to dedicate, to focus and push for greatness. The question is what is your goal? Where do you want your greatness to go?

In our busy lives, we become lost between what we know, what we lack and the in between. In order to grow our potential, we need to take what we know, be willing to push into the unknown and work through whatever it requires getting there. Obstacles seem to be the reality check, giving us a challenge to whether or not we have the willpower to take on anything and everything. We should never give up on ourselves when we hit a wall. We just need to find a way to navigate through or around it. Once again… your potential is dependent on how far you want to go.

The will to win, the desire to succeed, the urge to reach your full potential… these are the keys that will unlock the door to personal excellence. – Confucius

Day #129: Overall Consistency

Consistency is key. Especially when we combine this with an overall perspective.

If your morning routine is setting the tone for your whole day then imagine what would happen if you do each morning right, for the rest of your life…

People, including yourself, may find it bizarre that the idea of relaxing could be productive. For example; running or blogging. Personally, I have found that a strong and effective routine, can bring happiness in the weirdest ways. Simplifying your life down to the details and time boxed, enables you to focus and stay true to your own goals as well as break down and eliminate excuses. I don’t fill out my calendar, nor should I have to. I say to myself, this is when I will do it, this is how I will do it and that is that. The plan is set. Any alteration from this set plan is when I become restless and unfocused, even to the extents of being aggravated or easily annoyed. As any slip or lacking to complete a scheduled routine – to me comes as a failure, or that I am not staying consistent with my plan to move forward and if I am failing to move forward, I am letting my old self or lazy self, win and I am essentially becoming less of a greater me.

“Action is the foundational key to all success.” – Pablo Picasso

If you are consistent you will keep it. Not just what you have achieved, but the mindset, the discipline, and the attitude. So when you work for something do it consistently.
