Day #365: Transformation Is Possible & You Will Be A Role Model

Today’s focus continues the series of what transformations you will see when we stop limiting ourselves. One of the best way’s we can all inspire others is to do something great on your own. I personally think the best quality and the best thing you can acquire after you have stopped limiting yourself is better clarity of your purpose, your dreams, and goals. Once you have cleansed yourself of any doubt and any sense of thinking that you don’t have what it takes – you will be able to rise to your full potential, or at least start the journey towards it. If you know what you want and are going after it, don’t waste time but work hard on what you believe in, and have fun at the same time and are grateful, then you’ll be a great role model.

No matter who we are and what we are doing, people are always watching. You’ll motivate them to do the same without saying anything or make them do so, but simply by following your path and letting them see your progress. So that’s how the life of someone who’s not limiting themselves looks like. And you can have the same very soon if you simply decide that you want more out of life and are ready to fight for it.

Everyone in society should be a role model, not only for their own self-respect, but for respect from others. – Barry Bonds

So what can you do today to stop limiting yourself and start living the life you deserve?

Being the final dose of Project 365 of 2016 – today is your final chance to prepare yourself for the next year. 2017 is going to be the year you make it and it all comes down to you and what you do. By not limiting yourself in 2017, the potential you will have will be as far as you can dream and think you can achieve. 2017 is a chance for you to take what you have learned in 2016 and now apply it and make you into the best version of you possible.

Next year – Project 365 will be relaunched with a new series for 2017. Tune in for Day #366 to find out more.

As part of the final 10 days of 2016, I did a small series called “Transformations you will see when you stop limiting yourself” and here is the full 10 days now completed.

Day #364: Transformation Is Possible & You’ll Take Action More

Today’s focus continues the series of what transformations you will see when we stop limiting ourselves. Taking action and successfully completing that task gives you a feeling of ‘you can do anything’. That’s what it can be like each day when we stop limiting ourselves more and more. Most people have too many doubts and insecurities, they also fear failure and distractions seem to always get in the way too. But once you have peace of mind and the right amount of confidence, you’ll also take initiative, act upon your goals and turn ideas into reality. You’ll do many other little things like asking a question when you want to know something, not waiting for the perfect timing and conditions to do something, expressing your opinion and thus simplifying communication. And much more.

But it all starts with doing something right away instead of over thinking it and coming into 2017 – this is what you need to be considering.

If we all stop limiting ourselves and if we stop waiting for opportunities to find us and we step out on our own to conquer – we may just surprise ourselves. Sadly enough people don’t try new things because they fear failure or they don’t feel comfortable in their own skin and as a result, they don’t approach new people or speak up. That’s an awful way to live life… Because — we’re all equally gifted and it’s all a matter of choice and initiative whether we’ll become the best version of ourselves or live an average life. But if you stop limiting yourself, big transformations will start happening in every area of your life right away.

What are some of the transformations you will see:

  • (Day #356) You’ll have bigger goals
  • (Day #357) You’ll improve your skills
  • (Day #358) You’ll overcome shyness
  • (Day #359) You’ll get things done
  • (Day #360) You’ll be present
  • (Day #361) You’ll enjoy life more
  • (Day #362) You’ll generate ideas
  • (Day #363 – Yesterday) You won’t get depressed
  • (Day #364 – Today) You will take action more:
    • Limiting ourselves plays on our laziness and tempts us to constantly taking the easy road in life. The easy road is less risky, it doesn’t involve a lot of effort and it’s comfortable. Change requires you to step out of your comfort zone and into the unknown. You have to change yourself, your surroundings even your habits. Once we have broken free of limiting ourselves to actually take action, then we can start getting things done.
    • The key to getting things done is to consistently get things done. It is about building a new habit and making it so much a part of you that you don’t have to think about how you’re going to get it done and what you’re going to do to psych yourself up for it; you just sit down and complete it. To build any new habit, you must take small steps and increase the size of these steps only once you have no difficulty with the one you’re on. Apply this with consistency and you will start to see the increase in results improving.
    • If you stay on this road, there will come a day when you’ll want to tackle a project that everyone around you says is too big for you to realistically handle — and you’ll handle it with ease.

“Action is the foundational key to all success.” – Pablo Picasso

Day #363: Transformation Is Possible & You Can Be Depression Free

Today’s focus continues the series of what transformations you will see when we stop limiting ourselves. We have all felt this way for either a short or long period of time, but to minimize it – we once again need to stop limiting ourselves. I am talking about depression. Depression is often a result of the stress and unhappiness we bring to ourselves by not following our path in life, not doing things we enjoy, not being social or expecting the best to happen. (Obviously, there are other causes too.) But when you stop limiting yourself you’ll always be doing something – either spending quality time with loved ones and new friends, being focused on your current activity and doing productive work or working on your goals and dreams.

So there won’t really be anytime and reason to get depressed.

  • (Day #356) You’ll have bigger goals
  • (Day #357) You’ll improve your skills
  • (Day #358) You’ll overcome shyness
  • (Day #359) You’ll get things done
  • (Day #360) You’ll be present
  • (Day #361) You’ll enjoy life more
  • (Day #362 – Yesterday) You’ll generate ideas
  • (Day #363 – Today) You won’t get depressed:
    • Depression is a seriously hard thing to overcome. Many people get it only once in their lifetime. Other people get bouts of depression again and again, which makes a life hard living. Depression by nature is complex and that means it can be a challenge to overcome or it can be a matter of following simple steps. But regardless – depression has one weakness. Your persistence. If you will continue fighting until you get the life you want! If you begin to break down the limits you have placed on yourself and if you ensure your motivation in check then you will get there. But the key here is to remember: You are not alone. You will never be alone.
    • The quote below from Robin William’s in The Fisher King offers us a reminder that attitude, not reality, determines our mental health. Depression is a disease of distorted reality. We all admired Robin Williams as a masterful human being who had so much to offer the world with his comedic genius and compassion and goodness as a human being, his view of himself was not what we all saw. He apparently could not see past being a man alone, in pain, with no hope in sight of relief.  “And being a fool, he was simple minded, he didn’t see a king. He only saw a man alone and in pain.” – Robin Williams, The Fisher King
    • You need to keep yourself honest and take control of the changes you want to see. Depression is also one of those major times when you must rely on family and friends. So, go out and seek help if you need it.

“Without good health, it’s hard to enjoy life. So I’m going to keep myself and my loved ones always healthy.” – Unknown

Day #362: Transformation Is Possible & You’ll Generate More Ideas

Today’s focus continues the series of what transformations you will see when we stop limiting ourselves. Being free of limitations and the bond it creates – you will begin to break off the mental barriers that have been fogging your thoughts and ideas. As many would call it…you will get your creative juices flowing. The more you attempt and the more you think about it – the more you will begin to come up with new ideas, you will handle daily problems more easily and you will have a new drive to be working on new things all the time. This will kick-start a new intuitive you.

• (Day #357) You’ll improve your skills
  • (Day #358) You’ll overcome shyness
  • (Day #359) You’ll get things done
  • (Day #360) You’ll be present
  • (Day #361 – Yesterday) You’ll enjoy life more
  • (Day #362 – Today) You’ll generate ideas:
    • As noted – with your limitations lifted you will be free to generate new ideas more and more. The problem is we need to ensure we now don’t limit ourselves to the ideas we have. Ideas come to us every day, much more than we could ever use. We dismiss most of them, without making an effort to record them. This is unfortunate. We may dismiss an idea which would change the world. If you’re keen on being an idea generator, here is a challenge for you. There’s never been anyone like you, and there never will be again. Decide that you’ll generate ideas daily and that you’ll act on at least one idea a week.
    • A quote from Steve Jobs sums it up brilliantly. “Creativity is just connecting things. When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they didn’t really do it, they just saw something. It seemed obvious to them after a while. That’s because they were able to connect experiences they’ve had and synthesize new things. And the reason they were able to do that was that they’ve had more experiences or they have thought more about their experiences than other people.”

“If you do not express your own original ideas, if you do not listen to your own being, you will have betrayed yourself.” – Rollo May

Day #361: Transformation Is Possible & You’ll Enjoy Life Even More

Today’s focus continues the series of what transformations you will see when we stop limiting ourselves. Limitations bound us to feel the same over and over again. But what we need to ask ourselves is… how can one grow, discover, learn, understand and develop a stronger connection with life if they are stuck at a single point of living. Like yesterday’s blog, ‘You’ll be present’ – enjoying life more fall’s under this same category. Living in the present enables you to enjoy life more as you are working to experience every day and to find happiness and contentment. You’ll also learn to appreciate the things you have much, much more.

  • (Day #361 – Today) You’ll enjoy life more:
    • Staying caught up in the past is toxic to your growth, however, and interferes with your ability to move forward. Regardless if your single or not, life can be self-actualizing and enjoyable, but you need to embrace it first. Being in a hurry all the time drains your energy. Getting caught up in things beyond your control stresses you out. Take a chill pill and just try to enjoy the things that come your way – or the time you have to grow and experience things on your own.
    • Further to this – you may want to bring in some life balance… The big question is…What does life balance really mean? What would a balanced life look like to us? And most importantly, how do we go about achieving it in the midst of our crazy schedules? There are steps you can take to change what isn’t working and get back some control and balance in your life. And once you start seeing results you’ll be better equipped to maintain that new-found equilibrium. The key is not to try to change everything at once, but to make small adjustments over time to determine what works for you. Eventually, you will have a whole new set of positive life habits and you’ll never look back!

Slow down and enjoy life. It’s not only the scenery you miss by going too fast — you also miss the sense of where you are going and why. ~ Eddie Cantor

Day #360: Transformation Is Possible & You’ll Enjoy The Moment

Today’s focus continues the series of what transformations you will see when we stop limiting ourselves. There is a saying that suggests life is not measured by the breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away. When we are limiting ourselves we are also limiting our ability to make the most of the moments we have. We become narrow-minded and fail to appreciate the little things and the things of the present and in the moment. We become so stuck in the past and what has happened, or even so worried about the future – we struggle to relax and enjoy the possibility of the present.

Scroll to the bottom to see: Day 360 – Today

What are some of the transformations you will see:

  • (Day #356) You’ll have bigger goals:
    • If you’re already thinking you cannot succeed, maybe you are just a little scared to dream big. I dare you to set a new big goal for 2017 and don’t set out to prove it to the world, but to prove it to yourself. Prove to yourself you have what it takes. Because you do have what it takes. But if you don’t set out to achieve a goal – you will never achieve anything better in life – unless an opportunity jumps in your lap. If you simply let go of the limitations you have set for yourself, you will soon realize you have the capabilities to set your eye on the prize and make it happen.
    • So my challenge to you is to define your deepest desires for the perfect ideal lifestyle that you would see fit, and start to take the steps in making this happen. The first one being BELIEVING IN YOURSELF. Write down these things you need to do – think of the person you need to be like in order to get closer to meeting your goals. This is it. This is your chance. Don’t waste it.
  • (Day #357) You’ll improve your skills:
    • Everyone gets to a certain point where they learn the same thing: Life is hard. There’s so much to learn, and, as you get older, so little time to do so. However, though there are endless bits of knowledge and abilities that a person can learn throughout his life, there are many self-improvement skills you can focus on to ensure that the rest come a bit more easily to you. Combine this with believing in yourself and your abilities more and you’ll work on fighting your weaknesses and improving your strengths. You’ll gain knowledge and experience in new areas, may even master a skill after some time. That will change your perspective of life and you’ll aim even higher after that.
    • There is never an end to the journey of self-improvement. The more you grow, the more you realize there is so much out there you don’t know, so much that you have to learn. For sure, there is always something about ourselves we can improve on. The human potential is limitless, so it’s impossible to reach a point of no growth. Whenever we think we are good, we can be even better.
  • (Day #358) You’ll overcome shyness:
    • The moment you stop limiting the ability and capabilities you have – there will be nothing to stop you from communicating with people freely and confidently. Knowing yourself and your abilities will enable you to stand tall and defeat any lack of self-esteem. If you want to fast track this experience and grow your confidence to the next level as quickly as possible… A great way to start this is by approaching one new person daily, no matter how uncomfortable or scary it may feel. Once you do that, you’ll see it’s nothing impossible. Even if it’s awkward the first few times, you’ll soon feel better around new people and will think of stuff to talk about more easily.
    • If we have a negative mindset about things that worry or scare us, we can’t function confidently. We can get stuck on the negative possibilities, and that leads us to second guess our decisions, or not make recommendations at all. Being negative and talking about all the things that could go wrong will disable us from stepping out of our shells. So take the actions and take the steps to move past the negativity and take hold of the limitations. Doing this and the above point – you will see the difference in no time!
  • (Day #359 – Yesterday) You’ll get things done:
    • With limitations gone – one of the key and important things that will happen is you will start to be productive. You will start to get things done. The lack of focus, the need or urge for procrastination or the feeling of doubt or thought of failing will soon be eradicated. As you begin to notice this more and more and tap into this new-found drive to get things done, others will too, they will notice your drive. The important point here is to ensure you have some things you plan to really tap into. These could be goals or projects – but make sure you have something to put all this new-found drive into.
    • It would also be a good idea to focus on what you love. Without limitations, you have a chance to finally chase the dreams and take the leap into creating the new lifestyle for you. Life’s short. Do you really want to spend 23.8% of your life working at a job that you hate? Didn’t think so. Do what you love. Don’t do work for the sake of looking busy or only because someone told you to. Think about the impact. And if it’s not impacting, have the courage to say so. Challenge yourself to do great work that makes an impact.
  • (Day #360 – Today) You’ll be present:
    • Another way we usually limit ourselves is by living in the past and dreaming of the future while ignoring the present. We constantly get back to what was before, compare it to what is now and have regrets. We also fear the future, try to predict what might happen or imagine the worst case scenario. But life happens here in the present moment. And once you realize that, you’ll be able to be more mindful of what’s currently happening.
    • We all know that life can sometimes get overwhelming: from rush hour traffic to the never-ending workload, there is always something that needs our attention. Life can crawl through you if you let negativity overtake your mind, and it will fly by in the blink of an eye if you get too engrossed in everyday life and fail to recognize and differentiate you apart from the everything else. It is therefore very important that you find time to nurture yourself and give it the attention it deserves.

Day #359: Transformation Is Possible & You’ll Even Get Things Done

Today’s focus continues the series of what transformations you will see when we stop limiting ourselves. If limitations were wiped clean – just imagine the possibilities of what we could do, what you could be, do or see. There would be no room for excuses and no room for fear. The sky wouldn’t even be the limit. The fact is – sadly enough we become so overwhelmed and unmotivated by our own limitations and what people have put on us – that we probably will miss out on a majority of our opportunities or adventures and experiences. This can change!

Day #358: Transformation Is Possible & Confidence Is Part Of It

Confidence is part of any transformation. Today regardless of whether you are introverted or extroverted, we can all relate to that feeling of shyness at some point in our lives. Socially, we tend to have the misconception that only introverts experience shyness, but that is not true. Shyness has more to do with being uncomfortable with one’s self, especially around other people.

“Low self-confidence isn’t a life sentence. Self-confidence can be learned, practiced, and mastered–just like any other skill. Once you master it, everything in your life will change for the better.” – Barrie Davenport

Day #357: Transformation Is Possible & Self Improvement Is Endless

Yesterday (Day #356) I noted that as we venture into these final 10 days I will explore each one of the below transformations in lead-up to the new year. Today I will continue that and help you understand how self-improvement is not a once off kind of thing. It should be endless.

Which I think you can make it your best year yet!

  • (Day #356 – Yesterday) You’ll have bigger goals:
    • If you’re already thinking you cannot succeed, maybe you are just a little scared to dream big. I dare you to set a new big goal for 2016 and don’t set out to prove it to the world, but to prove it to yourself.
  • (Day #357 – Today) You’ll improve your skills:

Day #356: Transformation Is Possible – Stop Limiting Yourself

Ask yourself this question. Do you believe in transformation? Would you be where you are today if you had given up early in the year?

Maybe this year, you didn’t set out with a list of goals, but maybe opportunities found you. Maybe you started a new job, moved to a new location, joined a gym mid-year, realized a hobby you’re naturally good at or maybe you took on a responsibility in the local community. Whatever the case may be, there must have been something this year which was a step up for you which was a difference to the norm and which required you to grow. Which has prompted transformation?

Imagine if you had given up on whatever this was, in the early stages. Where would you be now? Not necessarily with the opportunity, but where would you be as an individual. Opportunities are not just about allowing you to shine in the eyes of others, but they are perfect ways for you to grow and become a greater you. The point I am trying to make here is: Too often people limit themselves by not being sure of their success.
